Cairns City has had a Rhee Taekwondo Centre since 1975. Classes are taught in the Cairns Darts Association Hall on Macnamara Street, which is a great central location for those living close to the City.
Our Story
In this day and age, every Australian needs the skills to protect themselves and their families. Manunda provides classes to suit all ages from 5 years and older.

5th Dan Assistant Regional Master Instructor
Assistant Regional Master Instructor oversees the operation of Manunda, Redlynch and Whitfield Rhee Taekwondo Centres.
Bu Sabum Dave Horton
1st Dan Assistant Instructor
Bu Sabum Dave has been a huge part of Rhee Taekwondo Northern Centres for many years. Bu Sabum Dave started with John Lyndsay in Atherton When he moved to Cairns he came to train with ARMI Wayne at Manunda. He is a fantastic instructor with the patience of a saint.
Bu Sabum Dave works shift work and has endeavoured to assist across the Northern Cairns Branches whenever he can. He has been a great assistant to Bu Chong Kwan Jang Wayne and a great instructor.
Bu Sabum Chili Horton
1st Dan Assistant Instructor
Chili Horton – Joined Rhee Taekwon-Do 8 years ago, under the instruction of John Lindsay from Atherton.
When the family moved to Cairns, Chili continued her studies to be promoted to junior black belt in 2018, and then was promoted to Junior instructor 6 months later.
Chili promoted to senior 1st Dan in Dec 2021. Chili is a fantastic Instructor in Rhee Taekwon-Do and has since been promoted form 1st dan to assistant instructor and now an instructor. She a massive part of Rhee Taekwondo Cairns Northern Centres.
Yudanja Nicholas Valianos
1st Dan Black Belt
Yudanja Nicholas Valianos: Nic has been a student who came at a young age and was not really sure what he wanted to do, he moved between centres and experienced setbacks with his training due to being a bit of a quiet boy.
Yudanja Nicholas come to train with ARMI Wayne who was determined to support him in becoming a high performing martial artist who was confident in his own ability.
Yudanja Nic put an enormous amount of effort into Rhee Taekwon-Do training and was promoted to senior 1st Dan a couple of years ago. Yudanja Nic is now a major part of Rhee Taekwondo Northern Centres. He is a great assistant instructor and a perfectionist in is technique.
Yudanja Revathi Narani
1st Dan Black Belt
Yudanja Revathi Narani –started he training back in 2020. She has been a great part of Rhee Taekwon-Do Northern Centres, and has recently been promoted to Junior Black belt.
Yudanja Imogen Jackson
Yudanja Imogen Jackson started her training with Rhee Taekwondo back in 2021. Imogen has a very positive attitude to all aspects of training at Rhee Taekwondo thrives on new challenges. Imogen was recently promoted to Junior Back belt.
